A couple oldies as we celebrate one of the greatest tools in swimming.

Every once in a while I get a question about what to do when swimmers travel and end up at a hotel that has an "Olympic-size pool"... like the one shown here.
EVF(Early Vertical Forearm) Drill will help you isolate the initial point of connection for the freestyle catch.
Working flutter kick is typically a standard part of practice. Here's a fun twist sure to build up some lactic acid in your thighs.
Talk about a quick drill, here's one. This drill can be done during a kick set, or as a stand-alone drill.
Developing an early catch in freestyle is extremely important for all swimmers, but it's just not easy for all swimmers.
Knowing how to move your hands side to side in breaststroke, rather than pulling back is a skill all swimmers need to learn. This "fun" drill is a great way to see if you're able to do it effectively.
With it being election day, we're going to give two variations on this great teaching drill. You could also say that timing an election campaign is as tricky as creating a smooth rhythm in breaststroke. Too much too soon, or too little too late can give or take away the desired results.
This drill is simple to do, and helps you work on a few key aspects for fast breaststroke. An added benefit of using the snorkel is that you don't have to hear your coach (or your swimmers, in my case) while they yell, or complain.
You'll have to look closely to find out why this picture means so much. Give a guess and I'll let you in on the motivating aspect behind this picture in a few days.
Heavy breaststroke practice which requires good speed as the intervals get shorter but also doesn't overload the breaststroke swim too much by mixing it with freestyle. Hopefully, this means the stroke can stay more technically correct through the set.
In this week's pic, we feature a Masters swimmer during a pull set. Tell us what you think of this picture.
Now that you're a few weeks into a new season, your shoulders SHOULDN'T be hurting but, in case they are, here's an IM kick set that will give them (and only them) a rest. This one's worth trying even if your shoulders are fine.
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. The real problem, however, is that my addiction isn't a problem. Is that the first sign of denial?
We are a group of swimmers who swim really fast, and like to help others learn how to reach their competitive potential in the area of professional swimming.
