Hi Folks,

I need some help respectively your opinion for Kids Training

My daughter is 11 years and she is swimming in a team.
Now I want to know is it important at this time to pay attention the technique.
Or do you mean "no" it's to early for that, so let the kids swin how they can first

Her PB
100m free 1:20
100m IM 1:40
800m Free 13:27

unfortunately the coaches opinion is the Kids must concentrate of herselfs and pay attention of her own.
So i can't believe that
I'm not a professional coach but I think they must learn the correct technique as early as possible.
What did you think?

If you read through the various threads here, one of Glen's favorite quotes can be paraphrased as follows - "Technique first, then train like crazy." At 11 yrs old, your daughter needs feedback on a regular basis to ensure she does not get sloppy.

Good Luck.

"Technique first......"

That's my opinion too, unfortunately the coaches to be of another opinion :-(
They say; first get the Power an than will come the technique *confused*

so I'm not happy about this

I wouldn't be happy about it either. I've had to personally work with my brother because he also has a coach like that & he has degressed.
