Which is a better strategy to improve stamina : 1. to work with a shorter interval training time, leaving the body with less rest time, or 2. to work with a longer interval time, giving the body more rest. In the latter case, the swimmer is able to swim faster as there is sufficient rest. |

Both strategies should form part of an overall training programme over time. It would depend on where the swimmer is interms of personal fitness and time of year realtive to target events as to what the majority of the training would be based around. |
