Backstroke, nice rotation but doesn't the spread look too wide between the feet? Maybe not.

It tells me that you need to have a down kick on your pulling side to augment the power generated by the body rotation to the opposite side during the arm pull. This swimmer is doing it correctly since I see the left hand near the end of the pull cycle near the hip as the left foot completes its down kick. However, I think the down kick on the left side should be done a little earlier in the arm cylce to generate the additional power to the body rotation, and therefore to the arm pull, for a longer period of time not just at the end of the stroke.

THis hip flexibility is what I was talking about in the discussion board recently. The power of rotation and everthing comming together when timing the kicking with the end of the rotation and the pull like this.

This picture just reminds me of POWER! I think this is what sets good free/back from GREAT free/back. This kind of flexibility, stability, and power at the end of each push.

Just makes you think how much work goes into coordinating a ""useful**(kicking like this picture!) 8 beat kick!
